YOGI PEACE CLUB @ WANDERLUST 108

YOGI PEACE CLUB @ WANDERLUST 108

Yogi Peace Club was up before the sun rose last Saturday, packing a van full of our beautiful products for Wanderlust 108 Festival. We left Bells Beach at 5 am and headed up the highway to Catani Gardens in St Kilda.

The day was filled with Yoga, yummy food and an amazing selection of stalls. The sun was out and we were set up ready to meet all of the beautiful Yogis!

The Wanderlust Triathalon started with a the 5 Km run where the yogis charged it! They then hopped on their yoga mats for a DJ-powered yoga flow class led by top instructors. The yogis completed the mindful triathlon with 30 minutes of soul reviving meditation led by world renowned spiritual leaders Duncan Peak.

It was so incredible to talk to you everyone, and hear all of their feedback. We heard nothing but amazing comments from customers who own our mats and wear our YPC clothing......which melted our hearts and reminded us why we do what we do. We just loved meeting all of people for the shared love of Yoga. We cannot wait to see you all again next year!

BEHIND THE SCENES OF 'SUNRISE OVER SEA'

BEHIND THE SCENES OF 'SUNRISE OVER SEA'

Last week we launched our 2017 Autumn collection ’Sunrise over Sea’, consisting of beautiful earthy and oceanic hues, derived from our amazing local beaches and surrounding cliffs of Bells Beach, Victoria.

This is a behind the scenes look into our campaign shoot with an amazing team of talent! Frankie Kaye behind the camera, whose natural creative eye is what produced such incredibly beautiful shots. Patch Thompson, a yoga teach at Yoke Yoga Torquay, who moved and flowed in our beautiful new range in ways you couldn't imagine. And of course, Tess Lucas, who not only is a professional model and yogi, but also is Yogi Peace Club's Sales and Marketing manager.

With the warm autumn sun shining and the vast picturesque cliffs of Bells Beach, the day was perfect. At Yogi Peace Club, we pride ourselves in our authenticity, and our Sunrise over Sea campaign shoot, could not have reflected that value better. It was a day of great company, big smiles, and playing amongst the waves and cliffs of our beautiful home.

    5 MINUTES WITH PETRA MANGOS

    5 MINUTES WITH PETRA MANGOS

Petra Mangos is an international model by day and an passionate yoga instructor by night! At the incredible age of 23, Petra has walked in fashion weeks all around the world, and has been doing so for almost 10 years! Lucky for us she found her way to Australia, and is currently signed by Chadwick Modelling Agency!

She is a qualified yoga instructor and one of our beloved Yogi Peace Club Girls! She is just as beautiful on the inside as she is out, so we decided to get to know her better!

    Three words that describe you:

    Bubbly, energetic .. impatient :)

    What are you inspired by:

Random acts of kindness with no expectation of reward.  I believe that kindness is a universal language, a language which the deaf can hear and blind can see.

When did your passion for yoga start:

I first stepped on the mat in 2012 and have loved expressing myself through the flow of the disciplined, physical and spiritual practice of yoga ever since.

How long have you been Modelling for:

A whole decade next year. Time flies, when you're having fun!

What drove you to become a yoga instructor:

I decided to teach yoga because I wanted to become a better student. I have learnt so much about myself through teaching others. I love inspiring people to give their best and become a better version of themselves, in order to discover deep down what they already know.

The one thing that makes you happy:

My better half, Jeremy. He makes me smile. Every day.

The best thing about your job is:

Seeing people progress on daily basis, not only with their asana practice, but in their daily lives. Seeing people being open, emotional, sometimes vulnerable, happy, frustrated, relieved & finally accepting themselves for what they are.

     What is your proudest achievement:

Traveling more than a half of the world by the age of 23.

" I'm not the same, having seen the moon shine on the other side of the world "

    - M.A. Radmacher

If you had a tip for someone setting out on a career in your profession it would be:

Prioritize your own practice. Take care of yourself first. You can't give to others, when you're running on empty.

What are you driven and motivated by:

People pushing beyond their comfort zone. It's much easier to remain within boundaries of where you feel comfortable, than it is to face the fear of venturing beyond them. I feel motivated every time I see someone coming out of their shell.

What do you consider the greatest challenge you face in the modelling industry:

Constantly being judged by others. People have a certain stereotype in their heads, of how a " model " should look, or what their personality is like. We are all just humans. We have hobbies, we have college degrees, we eat french fries. Modelling is what we DO, not who we ARE.

If you were an animal what would you be:

Probably a bear. Sleeping throughout the whole winter sounds good to me :)

    Whats your favourite yoga pose:

     Baddha Konasana

    Why do you love yoga:

Yoga teaches us, how to live breath by breath. It's a way of life. Path to happiness. For me and many, yoga is a way to cope with stress, way to connect with our inner peace and silence. I love yoga, because it gives me a challenge on physical, mental and emotional level.

5 MINS WITH MANTRAS AND MANGOS

5 MINS WITH MANTRAS AND MANGOS

VEGAN | YOGI | NURSE | MANTRAS AND MANGOS

This week we had the pleasure of catching up with the gorgeous Mary Kant from Mantras and Mangos.

Mary shifted her dietary behaviour and became a vegan 2 years ago. She cut out all animal products from her diet and lifestyle. Mary has a website and e-book entitled The Vibrant Life that hopes to inspire others to make more sustainable choices in food and lifestyle options that support the planet. The e-book is an extensive guide to living, eating vegan and provides some detailed information on how to eat a nutritionally balanced diet.

Mary is a registered nurse and lover of the beach and travel. She also a Yogi and spends time on her yoga mat everyday. We loved the recent interview in GT Magazine where Mary was wearing some of the latest pieces from Yogi Peace Club.

What inspires you: The love that is everywhere in this world - in humans, animals and nature!

Your passion for healthy food started when: I no longer wanted to suffer in my own body! I wanted to feel better physically and mentally and knew it had to start at my plate.

The one thing that makes you happy is: Love!

Tell us about what you do: I'm a Registered Nurse in a clinic and I Health Coach young women to develop a healthier and positive relationship with food and their bodies! I also blog on Instagram and make YouTube videos!

When you wake in the morning the first thing you do is: Kiss my boyfriend!

Other people would describe you as: Wild yet calm

To live a healthier life you can start by: Believing that you deserve to feel better and become the best version of yourself! Put your health first! Drink water, see the sun, practice gratitude, eat more plants and just love!

A tip for someone who wants to become vegan but is unsure how to start: I think the best thing to do is educate yourself! Also, finding the true reason you want to adopt a vegan lifestyle - whether it be because of animal welfare, the environment or your health (or all of the above) will help you in your journey. This will motivate you and inspire you as you will find the underlying passion that is this lifestyle!

If you were an animal you would be: I'd be a bird so I could fly and see what this incredible world looks like from above! I think being a bird would feel so liberating and free!

Your favourite yoga poses are: Heart openers and hip openers... I could lay in pigeon pose all day!

You love yoga because: it keeps my grounded and at one with myself.
