At Yogi Peace Club, we celebrate International Yoga Day, as a day close to our hearts. It’s a time to reflect on the joy and unity yoga brings - not just on the mat, but in our community and everyday rituals.

This year’s theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” is a gentle reminder that our individual wellness is tied to the health of the planet. Yoga teaches us that we are not separate from nature - we are part of it. The breath that moves through us is the same breath that flows through trees, oceans and animals. This theme invites us to live and move with purpose, caring for ourselves while treading lightly on the Earth.

Recognised by the United Nations as the official International Day of Yoga, June 21st aligns with the Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and the Winter Solstice in the Southern. Chosen for its planetary significance, this date reflects balance, renewal, and light.

The first International Day of Yoga was observed around the world on 21 June 2015. International Yoga Day is a powerful reminder of the connection between personal well-being and the health of our planet. As we roll out our mats, we also roll out intention, towards a more peaceful, conscious and sustainable world.

Each year on June 21, millions around the globe gather in parks, studios and quiet corners of their homes to honour the ancient practice of yoga. International Yoga Day is a collective moment to recognise yoga’s power to heal, connect and ground us in the present.

“On this day, I reflect on what yoga has given me - calm in the chaos, strength in the stillness and a community I deeply cherish. To celebrate, I’ve created a Lower Back Love sequence to gift back to our yogis. It’s a simple offering with a big heart.
This day reminds us to slow down, honour ourselves, and celebrate the ancient practice that connects us all.”

"This International Yoga Day, I’m so honoured to gift our community a sequence close to my heart - one that supports the lower back with gentle strength and care. After having back surgery myself, this practice has been a vital part of my own healing journey. It’s also one of my most-loved classes,
and I’m truly excited to share it with you.”
