The YPC Journey est 2014

Yogi Peace Club Time Line
by founder Emma Barr

The intention for YPC since its beginning has been simple; to design ecologically minded yoga products that inspire people to practice yoga.

Firstly, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our customers. I feel very thankful to have connected with you all. Your support and loyalty gives life to the brand.

Secondly, I would like to share, how lucky I feel to be supported by a team of incredible women. You are inspiring and provide the back bone of the brand. Many assume YPC operates as a far bigger entity, however we are a small, local and considered team. We work hard to create and deliver products on time.

Yoga has the ability to transform the body and mind, so I take that philosophy into business, with a sense of empathy, kindness and sustainability to ensure our practices are in line with a yogic way of life.

A key focus for YPC is to source and create products that are a better choice for the environment, whilst also upholding quality. We firmly believe, that if a product doesn't perform, there is a far greater chance it will end up as land fill. We thus test everything with yoga teachers to ensure that our products are right for our customer and also the planet. Our aim is make products that are long lasting and value for money.

I have learnt so much about running a small business over the past 8 years. With a passion for design and yoga I look forward to sharing many new innovative designs and yogi products with you over the years to come.

Yogi Peace Club was born in 2014 from the love of yoga. I had just commenced my Diploma of Hatha Yoga to become a yoga teacher. At that same time I recently returned from a family holiday and I was inspired to design a pack of incense in a more modern way, rather than the traditional heavy fragrances, so I started with a small order of hand rolled incense sticks that had tropical scents. It was the birth of Yogi Peace Club!

The next products we introduced were cotton yoga tops. These were an instant hit on social media and we sold out very quickly. The game changer for us was the introduction of yoga mats. I wanted something different and unique, I love colour and prints so it only made sense to create something that was colourful.

Fast forward to 2022, we now offer now offer an extensive range of eco yoga mats, yoga accessories and sustainable apparel. We donate quarterly to the Carbon Positive Foundation, to plant native trees and restore biodiversity to degraded land and to rebuild Australian forests. We have been regularly featured in Australian Yoga Journal and Australian magazines and worn by many famous yogis.

Running a small business has many challenges, it's damn hard and continuous work. However, Yogi Peace Club is not just a job for me, it’s a passion and I love it! If you have a dream, follow your heart and take the journey, no matter how difficult the path may be. Listen to your instinct, keep things simple, be authentic and don’t give up.

Enjoy below a visual timeline highlighting our yoga journey from the past 8 years at YPC.

November 6th 2014

YPC launches with Tropical Incense Packs and uniquely printed Yoga Tanks and Crop Tops.

Inspired by all things tropical and bright, our designs were youthful and
colourful.

 2015

We Introduced Our first Printed Yoga Mats and Meditation Yoga mats.

With a background in Design, I was able to create and compose illustrations for all of the Yoga Mats. It was like working a giant canvas. I had so much creating unique patterns and exploring different styles. Artwork was positioned so it could be used as an alignment point for the feet and hands.

We began exporting Yoga Mats globally. One of our first big wholesale accounts was Matches Fashion.

Our first collection of Yoga Clothing ~ Eco Leggings and Yoga Crops was launched. We wanted to have prints that were different to competitors. We designed our clothes to be noticeably Yogi Peace Club when worn.
