Dinacharya: A Daily Ayurvedic Ritual to Reset

We are so thrilled to be able to share with you some beautifully, insightful Ayurvedic Rituals from Chasca Summerville from the Alchemy of Ayurveda.  Ayurvedic practices have gained so much more popularity outside of India in recent years, and many people now incorporate Ayurvedic principles into their wellness routines.

We spoke to Chasca recently about how to incorporate a daily Ayurvedic ritual into our lives to promote general health and wellness. Chasca suggested a Dinacharya, which is the Sanskrit term for daily rituals, a set of practices that keep us connected and centred.

As an introduction to daily rituals, and if you are fairly new to Ayurveda - Chasca has generously offered a 50% discount on her ‘3 Day Ayurvedic Reset’. Read below to receive the discount code. Click here to read about the cleanse.

We were blessed to have time to learn about the basics of Ayuvedia with Chasca, but also we learnt the value of having a daily ritual which in Sanskrit is known as Dinacharya.

We asked Chasca to explain to us what is Ayuveda.

Ayurveda is the beautiful natural system of healthcare that originated in India more than 3,000 years ago. The term Ayurveda is derived from the Sanskrit words ayur (life) and veda (science or knowledge). Thus, Ayurveda translates to knowledge of life. Ayurveda is based upon the relationship between the mind, body, soul and emotions.

It provides us with the tools to live in harmony with our environment while not only curing disease but preventing it through plant-based living, daily and seasonal rituals/practices and an emphasis on mental and emotional wellbeing. Ayurveda is the sister science of Yoga.

How can I have an daily Ayuvedic ritual?

Dinacharya is the Sanskrit term for daily rituals, a set of practices that keep us connected and centred.

Here is Chasca's guide to a daily ritual.

Each morning rise with the sun and give gratitude for the day ahead.
