5 MINUTES WITH PETRA MANGOS

5 MINUTES WITH PETRA MANGOS - Yogi Peace Club

Petra Mangos is an international model by day and an passionate yoga instructor by night! At the incredible age of 23, Petra has walked in fashion weeks all around the world, and has been doing so for almost 10 years! Lucky for us she found her way to Australia, and is currently signed by Chadwick Modelling Agency!

She is a qualified yoga instructor and one of our beloved Yogi Peace Club Girls! She is just as beautiful on the inside as she is out, so we decided to get to know her better!

Three words that describe you:

Bubbly, energetic .. impatient :)

What are you inspired by:

Random acts of kindness with no expectation of reward.  I believe that kindness is a universal language, a language which the deaf can hear and blind can see.

When did your passion for yoga start:

I first stepped on the mat in 2012 and have loved expressing myself through the flow of the disciplined, physical and spiritual practice of yoga ever since.

How long have you been Modelling for:

A whole decade next year. Time flies, when you're having fun!

What drove you to become a yoga instructor:

I decided to teach yoga because I wanted to become a better student. I have learnt so much about myself through teaching others. I love inspiring people to give their best and become a better version of themselves, in order to discover deep down what they already know.

The one thing that makes you happy:

My better half, Jeremy. He makes me smile. Every day.

The best thing about your job is:

Seeing people progress on daily basis, not only with their asana practice, but in their daily lives. Seeing people being open, emotional, sometimes vulnerable, happy, frustrated, relieved & finally accepting themselves for what they are.

 What is your proudest achievement:

Traveling more than a half of the world by the age of 23.

" I'm not the same, having seen the moon shine on the other side of the world "

- M.A. Radmacher

If you had a tip for someone setting out on a career in your profession it would be:

Prioritize your own practice. Take care of yourself first. You can't give to others, when you're running on empty.

What are you driven and motivated by:

People pushing beyond their comfort zone. It's much easier to remain within boundaries of where you feel comfortable, than it is to face the fear of venturing beyond them. I feel motivated every time I see someone coming out of their shell.

What do you consider the greatest challenge you face in the modelling industry:

Constantly being judged by others. People have a certain stereotype in their heads, of how a " model " should look, or what their personality is like. We are all just humans. We have hobbies, we have college degrees, we eat french fries. Modelling is what we DO, not who we ARE.

If you were an animal what would you be:

Probably a bear. Sleeping throughout the whole winter sounds good to me :)

Whats your favourite yoga pose:

 Baddha Konasana

Why do you love yoga:

Yoga teaches us, how to live breath by breath. It's a way of life. Path to happiness. For me and many, yoga is a way to cope with stress, way to connect with our inner peace and silence. I love yoga, because it gives me a challenge on physical, mental and emotional level.
