5 MINS WITH MANTRAS AND MANGOS

5 MINS WITH MANTRAS AND MANGOS - Yogi Peace Club

VEGAN | YOGI | NURSE | MANTRAS AND MANGOS

This week we had the pleasure of catching up with the gorgeous Mary Kant from Mantras and Mangos.

Mary shifted her dietary behaviour and became a vegan 2 years ago. She cut out all animal products from her diet and lifestyle. Mary has a website and e-book entitled The Vibrant Life that hopes to inspire others to make more sustainable choices in food and lifestyle options that support the planet. The e-book is an extensive guide to living, eating vegan and provides some detailed information on how to eat a nutritionally balanced diet.

Mary is a registered nurse and lover of the beach and travel. She also a Yogi and spends time on her yoga mat everyday. We loved the recent interview in GT Magazine where Mary was wearing some of the latest pieces from Yogi Peace Club.

What inspires you: The love that is everywhere in this world - in humans, animals and nature!

Your passion for healthy food started when: I no longer wanted to suffer in my own body! I wanted to feel better physically and mentally and knew it had to start at my plate.

The one thing that makes you happy is: Love!

Tell us about what you do: I'm a Registered Nurse in a clinic and I Health Coach young women to develop a healthier and positive relationship with food and their bodies! I also blog on Instagram and make YouTube videos!

When you wake in the morning the first thing you do is: Kiss my boyfriend!

Other people would describe you as: Wild yet calm

To live a healthier life you can start by: Believing that you deserve to feel better and become the best version of yourself! Put your health first! Drink water, see the sun, practice gratitude, eat more plants and just love!

A tip for someone who wants to become vegan but is unsure how to start: I think the best thing to do is educate yourself! Also, finding the true reason you want to adopt a vegan lifestyle - whether it be because of animal welfare, the environment or your health (or all of the above) will help you in your journey. This will motivate you and inspire you as you will find the underlying passion that is this lifestyle!

If you were an animal you would be: I'd be a bird so I could fly and see what this incredible world looks like from above! I think being a bird would feel so liberating and free!

Your favourite yoga poses are: Heart openers and hip openers... I could lay in pigeon pose all day!

You love yoga because: it keeps my grounded and at one with myself.
